The National Parks Release New Single
The September release of their debut album has helped The National Parks become one of Provo’s most popular bands. The indie-folk band is making some noise again with, “As We Ran,” a new single released on Tuesday. Not only is the song another sweet sounding melody but it comes as part of a collaboration that is helping the band reach a wide range of new fans.
The National Parks wrote “As We Ran” for the first film in a documentary series called the National Park Experience. That first film, called “Love in the Tetons,” premieres in Boulder, Colorado on February 8th and will kick-off the series as it leads up to the 2016 centennial celebration of America’s national parks.
As if that weren’t reason enough to make a strong impact, the band announced that they will be donating all profits from the first month of “As We Ran” sales to the National Parks Conservation Association. It’s a generous move but also a savvy one. By noon on the first day of its release the song had cracked the top 100 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart!
“Our collaboration with the National Park Experience put us in a position where we could afford to give back, and we’re happy to do it. The national parks mean a lot to us, we even filmed one of our music videos in down in Zion National Park, so the whole thing feels like a win-win to us.” Said Brady Parks, lead singer of The National Parks.
The National Parks band are slated to create more songs for upcoming films in the series and will be performing live at the premiere of “Love in the Tetons” in Boulder next week.
