Did you see who is trending on all of the social media sites nationwide? It’s Marissa Powell, the 21-year-old 2013 Miss Utah from Salt Lake City.

During the pageant last night on TV, Judge NeNe Leakes asked Miss Utah about income inequality: “A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less than men. What does it say about society?”

How did Marissa respond? Let’s just say it gets really awkward.

Social media users are saying this is the worst answer ever given since the 2007 Miss South Carolina answer.

For those of you who are unable to watch videos, here was the the question and answer:

Question: A recent report shows that in 40% of american families with children, women are the primary earners, yet they continue to earn less then men. What does this say about society?

Utah: I think we can relate this back to education and how we are continuing to try to strive to (pause) figure out how to create jobs right now. That is the biggest problem and I think, especially the men, are um, seen as the leaders of this and so we need to try and figure out how to create education better so we can solve this problem.
